Loved this place…food, service, the whole thing.

I wanted the tomato mozzarella salad and the waiter suggested the caprese, which was not on the menu. Plain, simple but perfect. THE most perfect tomato I’ve eaten since I was a teenager, it reminded me that tomatoes don’t really taste like tomatoes anymore. The mozzarella was flown in that day from Italy and was definitely the best I’ve ever had. This one actually had flavor of its own. Chiffinade of fresh basil and the most intensively basil-flavored oil topped it off. Hubby had a seafood salad that was almost as good; lots of calamari, shrimp, scallops tossed in a flavorful oil. Just outstanding.

I had the prime strip which was really good. Hubby had the liver special which he said was good but nothing really special. Then came dessert.

I’ve had cannoli but never like this. Interior was so creamy, I couldn’t believe it was actually ricotta. The shell was still warm from being freshly made. I’m still dreaming about it. Hubby asked the waiter for something with marscapone and he brought out a glass filled it and topped with hot fudge sauce. Sinfully good.
