Utopia Cafe

Today at lunch I was wandering around chinatown looking for lunch when I spotted Utopia. I'd seen a lot of postings on the board about the place, so I figured I'd check it out.

I hadn't read any of the Chow threads carefully enough to know the specialties, so when the hostess asked if I needed any help and pointed at one of the generic lunch specials, I told her "I have a Chinese stomach". She immediately changed direction and pointed me towards the seafood claypot.

I sort of pirated the line from the chow passport, which I haven't purchased, but it worked like a charm.

I didn't get the claypot with the rice, and thus did not get the seasoned soy sauce either. Too bad, because while the seafood was perfect, and the mushrooms especially yummy, it was a bit bland. I compensated by adding soy sauce and hot sauce to rice and then topping each item with my seasoned rice mixture. Pretty damn good, espeically my rice-stuffed squid.

I would love some other suggestions for what a solo diner could have for lunch. Does Utopia have XLB?
