Update: More Specials at Fonda Coyoacan

It was just so good today, I have to report. Once again, ordered from the steam table. The woman was there; she had some trouble with the translation, so I'm not sure what everything was.

"Thinly steak in Pasilla sauce". This was amazing. The meat was almost like beef jerky -- paper thin, slightly chewy. It was not dry, however, as it was immersed in an intensely blood red pasilla chile sauce. The sauce was medium-hot (to me; the woman said it was very spicy and insisted I try a spoonful before ordering it), very deep chile flavor.

A deep fried vegetable in a light tomato sauce. This was described as "a vegetable like broccoli, but not." A little like broccoli, a little like spinach. Sauce was thick, puree consistency, but not at all like spaghetti sauce. A light orange color.

Chicken with ham and "some kind of meat, like pork." Very tasty, mellow flavor.

Once again, the most impressive thing is how each dish is completely distinct from the others.
