I thought I was only attending one day of a big convention in SF next month, but plans have changed...now I'll be there for at least three...and in Berkeley for two days after that. Berkeley eats are planned (actually one night we'll be going back to the city to meet up with family and friends). but now I have to think about those three days in SF. I will be with a lot of friends who seem to think I know Bay Area restaurants even though I haven't lived in the area for 30 years. So....hounds, help me out. I am looking for places that we can go to as a group of around four to six at the last minute without reservations...since the groups at these things tend to form adhoc.... or at least places we could call at 4 and get a table for six later the same evening (if that's even possible?). Any ethnic is fine, and price is an issue...,,nothing too upscale. Ideas? We'll all be in various hotels around Union Square and the Embarcardero...and walking distance or easily accesible by public transit is preferred.
Also, if the Moscone Center is true to form, the food inside is probably not worth the money....so any ideas for quick and inexpensive lunches in the area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
