I've eaten here a couple of times for lunch and I really like it. Surprisingly, so does my husband! He has had the Cor Blimey and the Cheeky Bugger sandwiches and said they were -really good-. Since he's often not big on sandwiches in general, that's high praise indeed. :) I had a bite of the Cor Blimey and I have to say that it is a well-balanced mix of meats, cheese, pickled onion, and hot English mustard.
I've had the fish twice and the chips once. The fish has a nice batter though it's on the greasy side of things, but I really don't mind it. This is not the best fish and chips I've ever had, but it's an awful lot like a neighborhood chippie you'd find on the corner somewhere in the UK. The fries are just what you'd expect. They have malt vinegar, which is how it should be.
The fish doesn't travel very well (not really a shock there), so best if you can eat it there or in your car outside.
The sizes of the sandwiches are a good value. They have a decent amount of meat and are very filling. I didn't get chips the second time because they just fill me up too fast (the portion of chips is on the large side). I just got the fillet today (well two of them, to bring one home and see how it travels), and they're big, as well.
This is a nice place to pop for lunch and I recommend it. :)
