After reading many, many posts here about how good Tomoe Shushi is, I finally got down there tonight to see for myself. Well, all I can say is: all those posts are 100% true!
Not only was my sashemi deluxe platter the freshest, most delicious raw fish I've ever had anywhere (particularly the yellowtail, which was FABULOUS), but the three "special" appetizers I had-- Spicy Toro Tar Tar, Seabass Tsukeyaki and Sawara Saikyo (grilled mackeral) were, without question, the three most delicious seafood "preparations" I've ever had ANYWHERE. Le Bernadin (which I think is EXCELLENT) doesn't have anything to rival those three items.
So, thanks, Chowhounds for pushing this place so hard over the years!
