Our dinner club's theme this month is Turkish. I've been tasked with dessert and asked to bring a baklava.
I'm from a greek family and made countless baklavas in my life, but it's not actually one of my favorite things to eat. Our family recipe is traditionally made with walnuts...though don't tell Mom and Yiayia if I am going to eat some baklava I personally prefer pistachios...
Anyway, I'm not sure what the traditional Turkish version is? Pistachio or almond? I'm pretty sure it's not walnuts? Rosewater or Orange Blossom water in the syrup? Any traditional spices in the nut mix?
