Must try!Crispy Fried Banana&Red Bean Dessert Dumpling

This is a dumpling for dessert.New restaurant Congee(98 Bowery 212-965-5028:opened a month ago)is serving this very hot and very very tasty thing.I've seen this dumpling in Hong Kong and Kobe in Japan, but I usually don't see in NY.It's a small fried round shaped pastry, size of a soup dumpling that is filled with mashed banana and red bean paste. The edge of this pastry is beautifully twisted,It looks like a UFO.Texture is very flaky because this is a pie,no wonton skin or dumpiling skin is used. It's $2.25 for 5 pieces.Although the menu is very interesting,I DO NOT recommend any other dishies at this place. One important tip.You have to eat this dumpling right away. You may burn your mouth but it's a part of fun, like eating soup dumplings.
