4 of us had quite an excellent dinner at grotto on Saturday.
I had the 4 course truffle dinner which was an incredible bargain for $62. It included:
- Seafood salad with truffle oil: delicately done squid, two huge shrimp, 1/2 lobster tail with very nice truffle oil and some greans
- The classic noodles with cream and white truffle shavings. Generous portion of truffles for the price. Perhaps not 9 Park, but darned good. They had this dish in 1/2 and full portions. With the truffle dinner, you got the 1/2 size.
- Generous 10-12 oz. or so ribeye crusted with black truffle. Perfect medium rare as I had ordered. Excellent steak and you could really taste the black truffle.
- Any dessert you wanted (no truffle here) from the dessert list.
Everyone else had excellent meals. This place continues to deliver really great value for the $. We would have gotten out of there for reasonable $ if we hadn't ordered a Barolo ;-). It was also quite excellent.
