Stopped into Trata on Mt. Auburn Street in Harvard Square last night for a casual pre-theater dinner with a few friends. I was a bit apprehensive as I'd read the less-than-stellar reviews on this board . . . but our experience couldn't have been better! The menu is focused on pizza, sandwiches, and salads, but they also have a few entrees on their regular menu and a nice selection of nightly specials. Our group ordered a few salads, two pizzas (the artichoke-mushroom and a simple margarita), the pulled-pork panini, and the lump crabmeat-avocado panini. We also enjoyed a nice bottle of Chilean Cabernet (the wine selection was better than I expected). Add to this a very warm/cozy atmosphere (the bar is especially inviting), and what's not to like? If you're looking for a casual place with a reasonably-priced menu to grab a quick bite to eat and a nice glass of wine, Trata fits the bill. I'll definitely be back.
