Tony's Pizza in Placentia Info

Hi all,

Made my first visit to this favorite in over a year and me and the family were NOT disappointed. Man, I wish I lived closeror had reason to be in te area more often. This is stuffed crust pizza at its finest and it rivals the better places in Chicago. The stuffed crust sausage pizza had a crisp flaky buttery crust with gobs of cheese and good sausage, but the real star is the sauce and its amazing flavor.

As noted this is not much of an eat-in place (there is a great park about 1 mile N on Kraemer) but that MAY be about to change. After 26 years in the same location, TOny's is outta there in a couple of months, probably October. Apparently they are tearing down the strip center to house a new CVS Pharmacy (ahh progress) but Tony's will move a bit west (closer to the 57) on Bastanchury in a shopping center anchored by Vons. About twice the size, but Tony says he's not sure how much more seating they will have, as new building codes (2 bathrooms and the like) and more equipment will take up some of the room.

At any rate, this is first-rate stuffed crust pizza by Chicago or any other standards, and IMHO, is one of the true somewhat undiscovered chow gems of SoCal.
