Last night we were on our way to La Tache when we passed Tomboy, a place I've heard of before, but know nothing about. It was about 8:30 p.m., admittedly on a Monday evening - but the place was totally empty. We went on to La Tache, where we had a basically mediocre meal (Magnolia Cafe is way better, but closed on Monday), then, on our way back to the car, passed Tomboy again - still empty! Of course, every restaurant has it's off nights, but La Tache, less than a block away, was doing pretty well (they're in Chicago magazine's dining guide - don't know why).
So my question is: Is Tomboy any good? My husband refused to eat there because it was empty, and he read that as a bad sign.
