I'm having a small lunch tomorrow and decided to make tomato gnocchi soup as one of the attendees always raves about it. I'm going to make a basic tomato soup from the Complete Italian Vegetarian cookbook and then add some high-quality packaged gnocchi at the end. I've never worked with gnocchi before. The directions say to add it to boiling water and let it cook for 15-20 seconds. Can I add it directly to the soup at the end or would it be better to cook it in water and then transfer it to the soup? Thank you.
