The recent posts about Mexicali reminded me of the many excellent restaurant meals I'd enjoyed in past years in Tijuana. Sadly, I realized that I haven't been to TJ in over three years.
At first, we were just busy and couldn't fit it into our schedule, but in the past couple of years I've frankly been reluctant to drive down south out of dread of spending hours waiting to get back across the border because of all the extra rigmarole that has been put in place. But all of that is really kind of speculative, since I don't have any first-hand knowledge of what the border crossing situation is actually like these days, or for that matter, what is the state of the Tijuana dining scene?
So tell me, Hounds, has anyone dined in our neighbor city to the south recently? If you did, was the border crossing a big deal or am I overly concerned? Or is there perhaps someplace in TJ or Rosarito that is worth idling for three or four hours at la linea?
