Visited Tia's yesterday after several glowing recommendations from this board. Despite superb navigation skills and a Mapquest map, still had great difficulty getting to Springs Road, but it was well worth the extra miles and the time. Small, unassuming place on the end of a small strip mall--you would not notice it unless you were looking for it. But the food was terrific, and the people were very efficient and helpful (even gave me lengthy but accurate directions to get back home afterward)
I had spring rolls, soup, the hot basil with chicken dish (with rice) lunch special--3 out of 5 on the heat index and just perfect, plus a rice and custard dessert. Would have had the homemade mango ice cream also if I had any room left, but I was stuffed with a warm afterglow in the best of Chowhound traditions.
Haven't had much Thai food in the past (that's gonna change), but I don't think anyone would be disappointed eating here. So scope it out if you're anywhere near Hickory--it's worth the trip!
