After looking at the relatively small menu, I only hoped that the place could justify it by doing everything on the list very well. Somewhat of a burger guru, I thought I’d give theirs a shot, fully loaded with bacon and cheese, medium rare. My wife went for the sirloin, medium. We threw in the “stinky cheese” and tequila watermelon appetizers. The cheese was good, though the portion was no greater than a small taste. The watermelon was fresh, but I didn’t really get too much of a tequila taste from it. All in all though, the apps were good. Then came the mains. My burger was undercooked, more along the lines of “walking off the plate” rare. The french fries that came along with it were uninspiring, crispy but more akin to a fast food joint rather than the shoestrings I saw on the menu. My wife’s sirloin was quite tough and overcooked. Our waitress was super accommodating, however, and offered up some dessert, which was the banana cream pie. This was spectacular, creamy and not too sweet, the bananas complimented the whipped cream and perfectly golden crust to a tee. Verdict: Skip dinner, stop in for dessert. Your thoughts? Tell me I just caught a bad hand here!
