Went to Lupa tonight.

Bread: Amazing. Olive oil accompanying was the sweetest and best olive oil I've had. You could drink it.

Smoked Eggplant in some sort of custard: Weird dish. The cheese was tasty, but I didn't feel it matched well at all with the eggplant and basil. The amount of custard completely overwhelmed the eggplant, which was actually an eggplant spread. Tasted very bitter.

Tomato Salad in a balsamic vinigarette: Amazing salad. Freshness was evident and the balsamic vinigarette was amazing.

Spaghetti with basil and tomato: Simple dish that could not have been more expertly prepared. Pasta was perfectly al dente.

Gnocchi alla Romana: Completely disappointing. Perhaps I'm not keen on upscale gnocchi, but this dish tasted like cheese blintzes. Absolutely no structure to the gnocchi. Tasted like baked cheese covering more cheese. Someone please explain to me the allure of this dish.
