Stopped by Thai House Express last weekend with a couple of friends to eat the stewed pork leg noodle soup. Not as good as on previous occasions which is likely due to the fact that the chef has left. However, we spotted the words "crispy spicy pork skin" on the specials board. These are four words that individually get me very excited so when combined I knew that we had to get it immediately. Thankfully, the dish lived up to expectations and it really only needs the four descriptors above. Unfortunately there isn't a picture of it because our table completely devoured it in about 30 seconds. The waiter claimed that it was in the style of chinese pork sausage except with Thai spices. What actually came out was more like spicy pork belly that was fried crispy. We got ours sauteed with thai basil and green beans but you can also get it straight up or in any of their sauces and curries. Next time I'm getting it straight up because we were all just digging around the plate looking for nuggets of crispy spicy pork skin goodness.
