Tex-Mex in/around Allentown?

Crying for Mexican | Jan 9, 2005 04:28 PM

HELLLLLLLLLP!

I'm a native Texan, and I lived abroad for 3 years and got used to the lack of mexican/tex-mex food. Now I'm back in the States and I'm tired of not getting my weekly dosage. Please please please for the love of all things tortilla, tell me that there is a restaurant in the area? I've searched the boards and found one Tacqueria, and another place that's name wasn't even mentioned, just a location.

My birthday is Tuesday and I'm hoping to find some place great to eat so I don't waste my birthday dinner at some craptastic place like Don Pablo's. The horror!!!

I'm looking for a place that serves THIN tortilla chips. Every mexican restaurant I've been to (*cries*) from DC to Allentown has thick nasty chips that you could use as a shiv. Trust me, this is not the way mexicans (or texans) like their chips.

Thin chips, a fantastic salsa, and margarita... And after all that if the food is bad, at least I'll be full.

Is this too much for a birthday girl to ask?

(P.S. We have a recommendation for a mexican restaurant called Cochina Del Sol in Frenchtown, NJ. The person who recommended it is not reliable, but I am willing to travel that far to be happy!)
