Terrific UWS Italian

My husband and I just discovered Pomodoro (Columbus Ave between 70th & 71st) after having lived on the UWS for a year and a half. Looks like any other neighborhood place, but the food is amazingly good. Linguini with white clam sauce may be the best I've ever had. My husband had pasta with sausage, portabello mushrooms and tomato sauce that was stellar. A special of salmon in a dijon cream sauce with divers scallops and side of gnocchi with greens (yeah, real diet food.....)was delicious. After the fact, we discovered that it's got a 21 food rating in Zagat's, and we agree. The wine list is very good and reasonable, and the service was great. Only downside is they don't take reservations for small groups, and they definitely get crowded!
