I have passed this place daily for weeks and finally stopped in for lunch.
Fast, fresh, friendly.

The menu board features a list of meats which are offered in burrito ($6.25), taco (1/$2.25; 2/$4.35; 3/$6.55), or quesadilla ($3.69 or 5.25 with meats) styles, adorned as you wish with lettuce, cheese (jack, cheddar, or cotija), sour cream, red onions, tomatoes, pico de gallo, guacamole (add 75 cents). Meats include:
Pollo adobado (was out when I went to lunch at 3:00).
Grilled chicken breast marinated in beer and spices.
Lean beef marinated in lime and spices.
Ropa Vieja - shredded beef with onion, tomato, jalapeno, and cilantro.
Puerco en pasilla - pork simmered in chili, tomatillo, and garlic.
Mole Verde - chx breast with sauce of tomatillo, jalapeno, green bell peppers, peanuts, cilantro, sesame seed, and spices.
Pollo en pipian - grilled chicken with sauce of guajillo chiles, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, and spices.
Pisinan roast - marinate beef cooked with dry red chili, orange juice, vinegar, garlic, and spices. >>>> this was my first lunch here, but there will surely be many more. It will be a challenge for me to not get fixated on the first thing I ever ordered.
Vegetarian - A> cabbage, garbanzo, tomato, onion, spices
B> potatoes and vegetables with chipotle sauce
Not a huge menu, but also has fish tacos, taco salad, enchiladas, steak salad, chilaquiles(!), and tortilla soup.
What a great place!
The pisinan roast burrito was my choice.
Tender, flavorful succulent meats, well seasoned.
Tenoch is at 208 Fifth Ave S, a block south of where Yesler Way passes over 5th Avenue.
