Teatro - Review

My wife and I decided on Teatro for our anniversary dinner because of it's fun atmosphere and it's vegetarian friendly menu (we are both vegetarians). We had an 8:30 reservation. We arrived early at 8:15 and were promptly seated. Make no mistake, this place is LOUD. We nearly had to scream at each other across a 3 foot table to converse. A lot of the evening was taken up by conversation such as "What?", "I didn't hear you!", "What did you say?". However, the food made up for this difficulty.

Let me first say the the service was extremely attentive. I'm talking fold your napkin into a swan while you're at the bathroom attentive. (Really!)Dinners were served simultaneously, Pelligrino filled after every few sips, and after the plates were cleared the candle was put back in the center of the table.

As for the food, the Zuccini and basil soup with olive crostini appitizer was the winner of the night. Salty with a creamy pesto taste. The olive crostini was wonderfully crunchy. The beet salad appitizer was simple and fresh, maybe a little too much salt.

The Ravioli with spinach and mascarpone was wonderful. Pasta just rightly done, the cream sauce was out of this world. (We both decided that this was the entree of the night) The Ravioli with asiago in a tomato brodo was good, although not great. The pasta was a bit overdone.

We did not have desert or coffee. The service in this restaurant is excellent even on a busy Friday night
