I spied the art gallery from my hotel room and headed up to have a look at the architecture - and stumbled upon this outdoor food extravaganza. There were a few interesting booths amidst lots of stuff you could pick up at any bar, hotel or Asian buffet.
Huong Long - Grilled Quail with Pomegranite Sauce - nicely grilled and the sauce made it
Guru - Tandoori Samosa. Good but I doubt the chicken inside was cooked in a tandoor. Seemed like more of a casserole with lots of that red tandoor colour added. Potato bhaji - nicely spiced battered potato slices. Better than the samosa.
?? Can't remember who(Black and turquoise truck)- Pork belly on a bun with cilantro, pickled daikon and carrots. Excellent. best thing I had. Nicely cooked sweet pork belly countered with a bit of acid and crunch from the salad.
Also tried 4 different beers, all indifferent except for the Full Moon IPA which had a nice bitterness and bright hoppy taste. The award-winning amber was very plain - something that could have come from any major brewer.
Plates were about $4-5 each.
