thanks to the chowhounds who recommended going on friday - a much more pleasant experience than the weekend.
I went relatively early, so the lineups were not too bad - I noticed they were getting longer on my way out.
1) The salads at Dash Kitchen. We had the Asian Sesame Noodle Salad and Mango Couscous. Both were delicious, and very representative of the kind of food you can get at the store. They took care to showcase their attention to presentation by serving the food in cute little boxes, and having a nice display on the table.
2) The lobster roll at Meritage. Why this restaurant is empty is beyond me, since the food is better at many similarly priced reaturants on the strip. This snack was a basic bread roll filled generously with lobster meat salad. Real lobster meat, not too much mayo, very refreshing.
3) Lamb pie at Ouzeri. This is a standard for us at Taste and it never fails to satisfy. Tender pieces of lamb herbed with rosemary, wrapped in filo pastry. Very good.
We also had tacos at Plaza Garibaldo - forgettable, but with a decent kick; raw oysters with freshly grated horseradish at Auld Spot, and pakoras at Sher-e Punjab (sp?) both of which were good, although not standouts. The oysters were from Cape Breton, large size.
