Since our favorite sushi chef, Tom (formerly of Asakuma), left Sushi Kokyo (Pico & Beverwill) a month or so ago, we've been looking for a sushi bar with an equally imaginative chef. Last night we went to Restaurant Kiyono on S. Beverly Dr. We were regulars there until Kokyo opened, but last night's experience wasn't enough to woo us back.
We noticed that there was a crowded (new?) sushi bar on the E. side of Beverly Dr. closer to Olympic, and there's the former Edokin on Robertson just N. of Pico that we frequented when Kin owned it. We don't know anything about the former and haven't been to the latter in years.
I would appreciate recommendations for a good sushi restaurant with an imaginative chef in the greater Beverly Hills vicinity. And, does anyone know where Tom is?
