Suggestions for dining in Pittsburgh

I'm looking for advice for dining in Pittsburgh. I've been here a while, and hit many good eats like Casbah, Soba, Kaya (big burrito), Spice Island, Carakesh, the brew pubs (church, foundry, valhalla, Penn brewery, etc.), Asian & Indian joints (Prince of India on Atwood rocks, lemongrass on forbes, trams), and ribs (nay nays and wilsons).

I want to try some other places, but I was turned off generally by the recommendations in the City Paper and the Post-Gazette. The stuff at Station Square scares me (even the grand concourse was not worth the price), so I think that the stuff on mt washington will be similarly overpriced or flashy without substance.

I have been wanting to try le Pommier, Linda's (in the strip) and the fish market. I would love to know if these are up my alley, or other places that you think might be.

Want to stay up to date with this post?
