Any Suggestions????-Not from here

I will be working in NYC for a week and my wife will be coming up with me for a couple of days. This is our her first time to NYC and I just came for the first time a couple of weeks ago. A friend shared with me this website and I have been hooked ever since. I will be working during the day, but we love to eat good food and are looking for suggestions. We are from the South and want to experience this great city. I have browsed the messages and am going to try to be specific.

Work - 3rd Ave east and 47th Street
Stay - 3rd Ave east and 53rd Street

Breakfast: Close by, but good fresh bakery.

Lunch: Needs to be nearby work but can walk 5-10 minutes. Looking for vintage NYC. Interested in ethnic food, like Indian, Thai, Mediterranean??. I have seen mentioned on the board, Margon, Zam's and Lupa.

Dinner: We will have 3 dinners together during visit. **First night, needs to be nearby hotel, since she is flying in that night. Budget is probably 20-30 person not including drinks. Same type as food as above. **Second night, we will be going to a show, so something in the theatre district, maybe a price-fix meal. The third night, I thought about leaving Midtown and going down to the neighborhoods, Soho, Chelsea, Village. This night, the budget might be higher, but not high by NYC standards from what I am reading, maybe $80-100/couple. I have read about Blue Fin, LeCirque2000, Blue Hill.

Dessert: Where are the best dessert places?

I know it is a lot to ask so you can keep your suggestions brief, but since our stay here will be so short, we want to make the most of it and not have any duds. We are not familiar with area, so addresses would be appreciated with any suggestions. Thanks for the help and for the wonderful web site.
