LOOKING FOR OLD STYLE LOUNGES AND PLACES WITH WEIRD ENTERTAINMENT

Julien | Nov 12, 2002 02:06 PM

I am looking for old style lounges with entertainment or other places with weird or unusual entertainment. Every year for my birthday, we like to go to a few with a big group. We will travel far.

We like ones with lots of old people going crazy if possible. We've been to the Brass Dolphin (Organ sing alongs in Downey), Barbata's in the Valley (big band), Magic Lamp Inn (Rancho Cucamonga) the Prospector (Long Beach) even Sushi on Tap when it was around.

We don't necessarily care if it's nice or classy- weird and fun can be just as important. These places all seem to be disappearing. We'll go to OC, Inland Empire, the Valley wherever.

We'd also take suggestions on other weird places with entertainment. We loved Sushi on Tap which had tap dancing sushi chefs. We even went to the Commerce Casino where they have awful but hilarious bands in their lounge. So if there's stuff in Artesia or elsewhere, please offer up your suggestions!

Thanks!
