Studio Cafe:Four Seasons Hotel-new review.

Last night my family and I went to supper at Studio Cafe. They have a new menu. Some things on it are really superb. The soup, for example:Squash (Butternut) with Maple and Apple Fritters-it is quite wonderful. It had a beautiful flavor. The Apple Fritters were a delight. It was almost a work of art. Understated flavors, not too creamy. A half portion of potato dumplings and wild mushrooms and green french string beans with a nice balsamic dressing was just terrific! However, the rest of the dinner did not live up to the highly promising begining. My order of Lamb with mustard was half raw. The vegies were good, though too few. The Dijon Mustard glaze on the Lamb was weak, almost couldn't taste it. Some portions of the lamb were too tough, others rare. They give you alot,it seems like overkill. The wild mushroom sauce was very good, however. (A fish that one of my family ordered,BC Pacific Salmon, was very strong,I prefer Atlantic Salmon. The sauce Safron-Vanilla-didn't work, overpowered the fish. (Too bitter as well) Desserts,Cheese Cake,Pecan Pie-were (next to the soup and pasta)-best things on the menu. Coffee-ok. Service was very nice, tried hard. Next time, how about the Lamb:Rack Of Lamb,Dijon Mustard? Fish-how about a Broiled fillet of Salmon-Trout? With Dijon Mustard?
