Striped Bass

I finally got to Striped Bass a few nights ago. I'm surprised that there is so little buzz about it on this board, because I thought that the food was outstanding! I had scallops to start: two perfectly seared (diver? dayboat?) scallops nicely presented with a delicious sauce. For my main course, I had amazingly fresh halibut in another delicious (mop with bread when no one is looking) sauce. I also tasted my friend's black cod, and couldn't decide which fish dish was better. Someone else had the lamb and loved it. Dessert was the only course that didn't wow me; my ice cream and sorbet sampler, although good, was poorly presented. Everyone else was happy with their chocolate and peanut butter dessert specials. My other quibbles: just a tiny amount of vegetables on the plate, and too-weak decaf coffee. Overall, it was the best high-end meal that I have had in a long while.
