I have never until now owned oven proof cookware. So starting something on the stove top and then finishing it in the oven is new to me. The other night I used an oven mitt to remove a sauté pan from the oven to turn the chicken thighs over I then went to pick the pan up with my hand to put it back in the oven. So yes burnt hand, but I’m still not convinced that I won’t do it again. I mean I have never had to worry about hot handles on my cookware, so I have to unlearn this behaviour quickly.
Does anyone have a system that works for them? Such as leaving a pot holder on the handle when it’s out of the oven?
