Stone Hearth Pizza, Belmont -pleasant meal for too much $$$

I saw Joanie's review of Aujourd'hui below and it reminded me that I needed to contribute a review of stone hearth pizza in Belmont. Her title said it all, so I stole it.

Went several days ago with 4 adults, 2 kids. Ordered 4 "large" pizzas and one kid sized pizza. Ended up ordering an extra "large" pizza for the kids as the kid size didn't feed even one child. For that matter, a “large” pizza didn’t really fill up the adults, either. Ordered a few sodas and a bottle of prosecco in addition to the pizzas.

Pizzas are thin crust and quite small. Toppings are fresh and great tasting in general. Salads (none ordered) looked good. The crust on the pizza has a nice toothsome consistency without being chewy. The “large” pizzas are small and thin, however. And expensive, at 12-14 dollars each. And I left not full.

The bill for the above was over $100.

It is a shame. I wanted to love this place, but I can’t imagine going back even though they are one of the few places in (dry) Belmont that serves alcohol.

They were busy – a 20-30 minute wait at 6PM on a weeknight.
