On the way to meet friends for brunch, passed by Stinky Brooklyn which opened on Sat at about 3 pm for business.
It's a nice store, though surprisingly the cheese section is actually quite small. The selection was pretty limited as well, with conventional choices, but my guess is that they are still feeling their way and the selection will expand over these opening weeks.
There is shelving along the left side of the store with jarred preserves, honeys, olive oils and the like. Back of the store has a refrigerated case with meats, cold cuts and some prepared foods. On the right, one refrigerated case of cheeses, the register, and another case with refrigerated specialty items like butter and dairy.
Two notable items that I noticed from this first run through:
-- A ham leg that will be hand-sliced as Spanish jamon
-- Two specialty butters from Applewood that is made fresh and delivered daily: a morel butter ($2.50) and a clarified butter ($4)
I will definitely be in to get these items. Definitely a nice addition to the neighborhood.
