Steak in East Bay? in SF, Harris=yes, Ruth's Chris=no?

Any recommendations for nice steak places in East Bay? E.g. Walnut Creek, Dublin?

Had another good experience at Harris's on Van Ness in SF on Friday night, their lounge accepts walk-ins and in 3 visits, I've only had to wait once (30 minutes). I've never gotten around to making a reservation but like the lounge.

Prime rib was excellent and huge (doggie bag for lunch today!), I forgot what my other had. Chef's salad was very good, though large. With delicious fresh-baked bread and salad, we always seem to forget there's steak coming. We tend to get out of there for about $100, including a couple drinks, for a truly great dinner.

And they have a jazz trio on weekends, I took my somewhat musical sister there when she was in town and she loved it. Decent place to take touristy relatives. Staff is pleasant too.

And it's a short drive to Broadway for coffee in North Beach.

Am wondering whether other people have had bad experiences at Ruth's Chris in SF. Only went there once -- terrible service, vegetables were inedible (true you don't go there for the veggies but still), they set us up on a card table (no exaggeration), waiters had little time for us and were surly and brought the wrong food (was supposed to be for the next card table). This was a year ago (Feb 2004) and we swore we'd never go back, but I'm wondering how other people have experienced it, maybe we just happened to hit it on a very bad/busy night.

We get out every once in a while for a splurge dinner... and obviously want it to be worthwhile.
