Starfish - Fish dish deserving a special mention!

When it comes to great seafood/shellfish establishments, Starfish is consistently amongst the top three, so there's no point for me to post additional accolades. However, I do want to mention the gloriously delicious fish dish I had this evening from their kitchen. Its ' Seared New Zealand Tarakihi on a bed of sauteed pea shoot, fingerling potato and seafood broth '. This is the first time I had Tarakihi. Though from New Zealand, the fish tasted pristinely fresh. The skin was cooked perfectly crisp, not unlike a 'Lays potato chip'! The flesh was deliously juicy with the chewy texture of grouper but more refined and yielding. The accompanying bed of shallots sauteed pea shoots was so tasty and possesses such an addictive aroma that I almost asked for seconds! The seafood broth, tasting more like a 'creamless' lobster bisque provides a great sauce for the potatoes and baby turnips to mop up. Definitely the BEST fish dish I've eaten this year in Toronto. ( beating out dishes from Splendido, Chiado, Joso's, George and Zee Grill, to name a few!)
