We ate our first meal at the just opened Gulf Coast Cafe on South Grand this Tuesday and were very pleased with the food and the service. Shrimp bisque was outstanding but not for those who are worried about calaories. Talapia was excellent as were the crab cakes. Great dessert of some kind of banana concoction (Marguerite says a banana wrapped in banana cake surrounded by banana custard. Whatever it was terrific. Coffee was good too and good coffee is hard to find. Nice place. We'll go back and sample some more but based on what we have tasted so far if will be a favorite. We noticed Joe Pollock coming in as we left so maybe we will get a review from an experienced mouth.
