The great, glorious run of Spicy City is over. The spicy boiled beef seems to be the last remaining remnant. The hot and sour fish does not appear on the menu and seems to be impossible to communicate to the current staff as to what item that used to be or now is. Ditto with many of the dishes that brought us back over and over again.
The food was not bad. About half the dishes were good-to-very good and the prices have come down. But it is now an ordinary Sichuan/Szechuan Chinese Restaurant.
My 16 year old son who was the true aficionado in the family has now experienced what normally happens in middle age---Nostalgia for the good old days.
