Speaking of Breakfast

As far as a good cheap breakfast goes, what do we all like?

My favorite is Original Ray's Pizza on the SE corner of Sixth and W 31st Street.

Walking by, you'd never know you'd want to have breakfast there (it ain't pretty), but they have the BEST homefries I've ever eaten. They peel and slice the potatoes the night before and soak them in water, garlic and onion overnight (I had to ask the guy one time). Then, the next morning they DEEP fry them (again, in garlic and onion), so by the time they get to your plate, they're moist, and taste like they were cooked in butter and have loads of flavor... I've never put ketchup on 'em ever.

They make pretty good omelettes, and the bacon isn't terrible either. Don't know about the coffee, though, and the bagels are crap (they're just like those cart "bagels" that aren't bagels). Bagels aside, though, for $4.50 you get a cheese omelette with bacon, homefries, toast and a Snapple Iced Tea. $3.25 without the Snapple. Impossible to beat, I say.
