What the heck is it?
Really enjoy Amarin Thai on Castro St, Mountain View. So far, it's the only Thai place I've found in the Palo Alto/Los Altos area that is consistently solid. Also, love that they have a vegetarian menu.
Several dishes on the vegetarian menu feature "soy protein" instead of tofu. It's a white, chewy substance, almost reminds me of thick rolled up chow fun noodles. I love the stuff, as it offers an alternative to tofu and satiates my frequent noodle cravings. Anyone know what this is, and has anyone seen it served in other restaurants in the area?
