My in-laws have offered to take me and my husband out to dinner for Thanksgiving. The question is where. They are not terribly adventurous eaters, and they want to spend $400 or less for 4 three-course meals. This figure should include a bottle of wine and at least two pre-dinner drinks.
Some other criteria: great food, nice ambiance (maybe a view? or a fireplace?), and a special holiday menu that includes turkey and trimmings but also offers some other items (mom-in-law hates turkey and all trimmings, dad-in-law MUST have them). Southern Westchester is a plus, although a particularly wonderful place in Northern Westchester/Southern Putnam would definitely be a possibility.
If I leave the selection to my in-laws, I guarantee they'll pick some place with nightmarish food, so PLEASE help me avoid such a miserable fate on a major holiday. I'm hoping to preempt any suggestions they might make with some of my own.
Thanks for your help!
