Southeast Asian Restaurant, Lowell - didn't like it, what dishes do folks recommend?

After reading so many recommendations for Southeast Asain in Lowell, my wife and I went there for dinner last saturday.

We started with the Combination B appetizer plate and it was pretty good. For entrees my wife ordered the Phat King Gai (Chicken, Ginger, Onion, Mushrooms) and I ordered the Yum Nuer (Grilled, slivered beef, mixed with lemon grass, cucumbers, onions, chili peppers and lime juice).

I didn't try the chicken, though my wife did not like it. My beef, other than just not tasting very good, used very poor quality meat. It was very stringy and nearly impossible to chew.

Basically, what I want to know is, what dishes would others recommend? Both my wife and I are big fans of authentic foods, and from the posts on here, Southeast Asian looks like a good place to go. The buffet meals looked really interesting and we were thinking of taking some friends there for it some time, but given that we didn't like either dish, I'd like to try something else there first.

Also, other recommendations for restaurants in Lowell and the surrounding area are appreciated.

Thanks,
dave
