Despite parking issues, including me getting a parking ticket while my friend waited in the car and told the guy I would be right back.....our lunch today at South City Kitchen was quite lovely.
We started with fried green tomatoes and shrimp-stuffed hushpuppies. I expected a bit more flavor from the tomato dish (overpowered by goat cheese), but the shrimp was intersting and tasty.
I had the pulled pork sandwich which might have been the best BBQ pork sandwich I've had in Atlanta; just a little sweetness accompanied with a tangy cole slaw and a tasty bun.
My colleague had the famous fried chicken, with green beans and mashed potatoes. He ate every bite.
If you can somehow walk to this spot, go for it. I loved the room, the service and the flavors.
