Somerville: Yum Yum restaurant; Sichuan dish translations?

Alex Nauda | May 15, 2001 04:25 PM

Tried this place on Broadway (Somerville) past Teale Sq a little while ago. My mainland friend told me they do authentic sichuan. We had trouble ordering from the chinese menu (they have ordinary dishes on an english menu and interesting ones on an untranslated chinese menu). After some help we enjoyed a delightful meal. The chinese name of the restaurant, I am told, brings to mind retired literature professors.

I tried to use a dictionary to translate the names of dishes from the menu, but they all come out to be something like "Four Rivers Delight Beef Soup". Can anyone provide any guidance in this situation?
