Smoragas 53 Stone st 212-422-3500

a month old restaurant that is specialized for scandinavian sandwhiches.

I had their signature the cold-water shrimp sandwhich.
this is actually open sandwhich - shrimp salad with
mixed greens & a dash of caviar(red & white) on a silce
of sourdough bread - comes with small salad & potatoe
sald.the shrimp is a canned food which is imported from
the north sea.
everything is not really impressive, especially for
$9.95. but teh other menus like, swedish meatballs,
foie gras&apple, Fjord salmon sound interesting.I'd love to go back and check the other stuff.
people are very very friendly and very good service.
they also carry chocolates from Norway and scandinavian
soda ( Solo orange soda ).
