Best size (portion) of beef for hamburger?

Any one think that there can TOO much beef for a hamburger.

1/4 lbs, is a bit skimpy (too easily overwhelmed by the lettuce and tomatoes and not enough counter-balance to the bun)

1/2 lbs. is good, not great, depending on the toppings, dressings, etc..

1/3 lbs. is just right (for me anyway) and provides the proper balance between savory patty mouth feel to the cool crisp lettuce, tomatoes and sweet/saltiness of the ketchup, mustard, pickles, etc.

1 lbs. is too much meat, it's like you ordered meatloaf and they threw in the buns as an after thought.

Any one else have a preference?
