first, thanks for all the suggestions to my query of a week ago. my family just returned from the college visit.

we had dinner at sidney's, 917 grand ave, st paul
651 227 5000.

the restaurant has a nice feel to it - lot's of room, airy, nice soft colors.
i started with the chicken and pasta soup which was very good. my daughter had the country style minestrone with pesto and loved it. my wife tasted it and we had to call the waitress back to order another soup!
for entrees, my wife and i had the halibut with lemon-ginger sauce. i'm not a big fish eater - i do like ginger - i thought the entree was excellent and my wife felt the same way. came with great skin on mashed potatoes and baby greens. i enjoyed my dish so much i can't be totally accurrate about what my daugther had - some kind of chicken wraps that she enjoyed.
full, we passed on desserts but they seemed to have some different, interesting choices.
service was attentive and pleasant.
the bill was approx $55- plus tip for the 3 soups and 3 entrees.

definitely a very nice experience and i reccomend sidney's to you.
