We had another good meal at the Siam House in Quincy Center last night. It's funny--I've been there several times now, and always like the food there, but it seems to be one of those places that I don't "go to," but rather "end up at" (kind of like the old joke about Denny's). We had been considering Falafel King, but there was a musty smell inside and it didn't look all that clean, so we opted for Siam House instead.
Tofu soup was excellent, with a tasty mix of rice noodles, tofu, ground chicken, and veggies, all in a broth that had a mild soy taste to it. And the mango fried rice with slices chicken was a lot better than I thought it was going to be (I wasn't sure about mixing tropical fruit with chicken and rice), but the combination was really something special.
I really like this place, but always seem to forget about it for some reason. By the way, is it one of the restaurants that might be shutting down because of the expansion of the parkway into the center of Quincy? I hope that isn't the case...
