New thread on a topic I posted below -- some requested more details.
Five midwesterners stopping in San Fran for one afternoon on way to Maui. This is on a Friday in February. Our itin is: pick up van at airport, eat somewhere for lunch, drive across Golden Gate Bridge, ride the trolley downtown, head back to hotel as flight leaves early Saturday. So we're looking for a nice sit-down lunch (which will actually be our dunch as we're not planning on eating dinner), not a hot dog or a sandwich place. I liked Scoma's fixed price menu so maybe something similar to that - around $20 per person. Looking for some place Chowhounders like, not tourist-y, somewhere within the area of the airport to downtown, to Golden Gate Bridge area. We can drive anywhere but don't want to waste too much time driving.
Thanks again! P.S. We're not vegetarians. : )
