Shoprite in Scarsdale

We happened to be in the area today, and we decided to check out the new store. The parking lot was pretty intense, but we did manage to get a spot on the other end. First of all, the store is absolutely enormous. I was very impressed with their produce selection. They had some unusual/hard to find items like lemongrass and various Asian greens and South American tubers. I bought some gorgeous poblano peppers and some very nice looking navel oranges. The produce area also has prepared foods, a soup bar, and an Asian food bar. The bakery looked just so-so, and the baguettes didn't really look like baguettes -- more like long loaves of bread. The selection of canned goods was excellent, although they didn't seem to have anything much different than Fairway. I can't comment on prices relative to other stores since I don't usually shop on that basis. Based on the number of people shopping there, this Shoprite seems to have hit a nerve in the area. I would definitely go back in search of some specific and unusual produce items if nothing else.
