Shaffer City - great oysters

Checked out Shaffer City last night (21st Street, between 5th and 6th). We ordered 10 different types of oysters as an appetizer. Dinner was the special of wild Alaskan salmon with haricots verts and wasabi mashed potatoes.

I'm far from an oyster connoisseur but these were among the best I have ever had. They offered roughly 10 different types of Atlantic oysters ($2/each) and 10 different types of Pacific oysters ($2.50/each). They were amazingly fresh and perfect with just a squeeze of lemon. I wish I could remember what types I ordered.

The entree was also great, with a big thumbs up for the wasabi potatoes. The service was nice, including the owner/chef coming out to greet us.

In short, I'll be going back.
